Question Types
eSkill provides the following six types of questions.
- Multiple Choice -- These questions provide three or more options to choose from. Some Multiple Choice questions have only one correct answer choice, while others have multiple correct answer choices.
- True/False -- These questions include a statement and only two answer choices: True or False.
- Fill-in-the-Blank -- These questions allow for the test-taker to type in the correct response. Usually the answer is only one word. If the answer requires two words or an expression, the question text should indicate this.
- Typing & Data Entry -- For these questions, a text is displayed or provided in audio format, and the test taker types the text into a text box. Typing questions have individual time limits and do not follow the time limit set per test or per question. The per-test time counter pauses whenever a Typing question is reached, and resumes when the test taker moves to the next Multiple Choice, True/False or Fill-in-the-Blanks question.
- Form-Fill Typing -- For these questions, the test taker types information into data entry fields, using a reference form or audio dictation. Form-Fill Typing questions have individual time limits, which are separate from the per-test or per-question time limits for a test. The per-test time counter pauses whenever the test taker clicks on the Start Typing button, and it resumes when the test taker clicks the Finished button or the time limit is reached. Please note that the test taker cannot copy and paste data from the reference form.
- Free Response -- This question type allows you to obtain information about your candidates by asking them open-ended questions. eSkill provides a set of questions most commonly used in job interviews. These questions can also be used in Surveys, for both existing and potential employees. You can set a specific time limit for each Free Response question in order to avoid long answers, or you can allow the candidate to take all the time he needs, by leaving the question with an undefined time limit. If a Free Response question with a set time limit is added to a test which has a time limit, the time limit you have set for the Free Response question will be added to the total time set per test. However, if a test with a time limit contains one or more Free Response questions without specific time limits, these questions must be completed during the overall time you have set for the test.
